Operation Sindoor: India Strikes Nine Terror Camps in Pakistan and PoK, Over 80 Militants Killed in 25-Minute Precision Blitz

IOperation Sindoor LIVE Updates: 80 reportedly killed in Indian strikes in Pak, PoK; govt briefing at 10:30 am – Firstpost

n a bold and tightly coordinated military maneuver early Wednesday morning, Indian armed forces launched Operation Sindoor, a precision strike targeting terror infrastructure across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). The swift 25-minute operation, executed with air, naval, and ground-based assets, resulted in the elimination of more than 80 terrorists, military officials confirmed.

This marks India’s most expansive cross-border counter-terror operation since the 2019 Balakot airstrikes. Intelligence reports indicated that the targeted sites were active terror launch pads and training centers affiliated with groups such as Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM)Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), and Hizbul Mujahideen — all of which have a long history of orchestrating attacks against Indian civilians and security forces, particularly in Jammu and Kashmir.

Targets and Impact

Strikes were carried out in key terror strongholds, including Bahawalpur (JeM’s known headquarters), Muridke (the base of LeT), and locations in PoK close to the Line of Control. Officials reported that between 25–30 terrorists were neutralized in the Bahawalpur and Muridke strikes alone. These areas have long been under international scrutiny for harboring militants despite repeated denials by the Pakistani establishment.

The operation came as a direct response to the April 22 terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir, in which 26 civilians were killed. That attack was widely condemned and believed to have been carried out by infiltrators trained in PoK.

Government's Statement and Strategic Context

A senior government official described the action as “measured and intelligence-driven,” emphasizing that the strikes were preemptive and focused solely on eliminating terrorist infrastructure, with minimal risk to civilians. The swift execution underlines India’s increasing reliance on precise, time-bound operations to tackle cross-border terrorism, rather than prolonged military escalations.

The move is expected to send a strong message to terrorist organizations and their backers in Pakistan, while also signaling to the international community India’s intent to protect its citizens and sovereignty without launching full-scale warfare.

India’s policy of “zero tolerance” toward terrorism, especially in the aftermath of the Pulwama and Uri attacks, has led to a doctrinal shift — one where surgical and precision strikes are used as tactical responses to specific provocations.

Global Reaction

As of now, there has been no official reaction from Pakistan, though tensions along the Line of Control have reportedly increased. India has briefed key allies and global institutions about the rationale and execution of the operation, reiterating its commitment to regional stability and counter-terrorism.

SP Poster Merging Akhilesh and Ambedkar Faces Backlash from BJP, BSP

Surprise: In BSP poster, Mayawati, SP leader Akhilesh Yadav share same space - India News | The Financial Express

As the Samajwadi Party (SP) intensifies efforts to appeal to Dalit voters, a controversial poster featuring a composite image of party leader Akhilesh Yadav and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar has sparked strong criticism from both the BJP and BSP. The digitally created image blends the faces of Yadav and Ambedkar into one, symbolizing unity or shared ideals.

Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal slammed the move, accusing SP of trying to attract Dalit votes while aligning with the Congress — the same party, he said, that engineered Ambedkar’s electoral defeat in 1952.

BSP's UP president Vishwanath Pal also condemned the poster, pointing out that SP leaders, including its founder Mulayam Singh Yadav, never honored Ambedkar. He recalled that during SP’s rule, districts named after Ambedkar and Kanshi Ram were renamed, and an Ambedkar memorial in Lucknow built by the BSP was insulted as a “hub of extravagance.”

Pal described the poster as a deep insult to Dr. Ambedkar’s legacy.

Startup 'Yellow' Aims to Change India's Relationship with Death Planning

Nikhil Varghese - Co-Founder - Yellow | LinkedIn

In India, discussions about death are often avoided—until a sudden loss forces families into chaos. With over ₹2 lakh crore in unclaimed financial assets lying in banks and institutions, largely belonging to the middle class, it's clear that estate planning is neglected.

Enter Yellow, a Bengaluru-based startup founded in 2021 by Niranjan Vemulkar and Nikhil Varghese. Born from the lessons of the Covid crisis, Yellow is on a mission to make estate planning simple, accessible, and affordable for the Indian middle class.

Unlike the wealthy, who often have legal advisors, middle-class families are left scrambling during emergencies. Yellow changes that with a digital platform—accessible via app and web—that allows users to create and update legally valid Wills from home, starting at ₹1,499.

Backed by the Government of India’s SAGE Fund and part of Google for Startups Accelerator 2024, Yellow offers clarity on an often misunderstood topic. It educates users that nominees are not legal heirs—only a Will legally defines asset distribution and guardianship.

With over 90% of Indians dying intestate, Yellow aims to replace confusion with preparation, making sure families aren't left navigating emotional and financial turmoil after a loved one’s passing.

Communal Tensions Flare in Nainital After POCSO Case Arrest, Minority Shops Targeted

Uttarakhand: 11 booked, 7 arrested after communal tension in Haldwani - Hindustan Times

Violence broke out in Nainital on Wednesday night after a 65-year-old man named Usman was arrested under the POCSO Act for allegedly raping a minor. The incident occurred on April 12, but the FIR was registered after the victim’s mother approached the police late Wednesday.

Shortly after the arrest, a group of men gathered near the accused's office and vandalised eateries and shops owned by members of the minority community. Videos from the scene showed individuals assaulting shop staff and staging protests in front of a mosque and the local police station.

Senior Superintendent of Police Prahlad Meena stated that the investigation is underway and assured the strictest legal action against the accused. He condemned the violent response and called for calm.

“I urge locals and tourists to remain peaceful and not fall for rumours. Cooperate with police to maintain law and order, and avoid any actions that could damage Nainital’s reputation,” he said.

The situation has raised concerns about communal harmony in the popular tourist destination.

Doing us no good': Trump signs order to eliminate US Department of Education - 'Doing us no good': Trump signs order to eliminate US Department of Education BusinessToday

Amid growing criticism over a major blunder, the White House faces questions about how a serious mistake occurred and whether it could be repeated.

In a shocking error, the Trump administration mistakenly added a journalist to a private chat discussing classified US military plans regarding strikes on the Houthi group in Yemen.

Jeffrey Goldberg, the editor-in-chief of The Atlantic, was accidentally included in a Signal chat group titled "Houthi PC small group," where high-ranking officials discussed sensitive military strategies, including plans for US strikes in Yemen.

The Guardian reported that senior figures, including Vice President JD Vance, Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, were using the Signal app to coordinate their efforts. While Signal is encrypted, it is not authorized for sharing classified information.

Goldberg, upon realizing he had been added to the chat with 18 senior Trump administration officials, swiftly deleted sensitive materials, including details about a CIA officer and ongoing operations.
